Creating a Project

Image
Creating a project in AiRNAB on the Web Tool is a very quick and simple process. There are two places that can get you to the Create New Project interface page. They are located under the Project Manager menu section on the left hand side of the web page as shown to the right.

You can also get to the Create New Project interface page from the black menu bar at the top of the All Projects page as shown below.

There are just a few fields that you need to fill out in the grid section of the page in order to add a project to the AiRNAB system. This page is pretty intuitive, and we will list the fields shown in the screen print at the bottom of this section and describe them breifly for you.

Before we look at the grid fields we will touch on a few of the tools located in the area above the grid portion of this page.

The Select Folder drop down allows you to place this new project in whatever folder you would like. If no folder is selected then your new project will be placed in the folder marked Default. This is defined in the Company Settings global menu section in Setup Project Folders. For more information on Project Folders please see Setup Project Folders.

The Project Owner will default to the user that is creating the project, but can be defined to any Company User in the drop down list. The Assigned To will also default the user creating the project unless changed to another Company User in the drop down list.

The Office Location will default to the main company location and if you have additional company offices they will appear here in this drop down list and can be selected as needed. Additional office locations can be added in the Company Settings global menu section under Office Locations. For more information on Office Locations see Office Locations.

The next three fields we refer to collectively as Project Status Flags and include Status Flags, Priorities and Milestones. Each of these flags has their own drop down list. These drop down lists are indicators that you have previously defined. Project Status Flags can be edited and managed by going to Company Settings on the global menu section under Project Status Flags. For more information on defining Project Status Flags go Project Status Flags.

Now that you have all of these items set you come to the basic project information in the grid section of the page. This section is pretty intuitive, but we will list each field and provide a brief description of the fields intent anyway.

1. Your project, most importantly needs a Project Name.
2. If you use some sort of numbering system for new projects you would assign that here at Project Number.
3. AiRNAB has several Project Level note fields; the Note listed right below the Project Number will be displayed from the All Projects page when hovering over the Project Name with your mouse cursor.
4. The next 2 lines are a Start Date and a Due Date.
5. Then we have an Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 for a Project Address.
6. A field for the City where the project is located.
7. The Postal Code field is for the Zip Code of the project location.
8. The Country field has the United States as a default value and can be changed with the drop down if needed.
9. The State field is a drop down as well that will default to the same state as your office.
10. The last 3 fields, Phone, Fax and e-mail for customer contact information.
11. Now in the far right column we have 3 Additional Comments fields; Customer Information, Location Information and any other additional comments. These 3 comment sections are pulled down to the Field Tool and can be essentially used to communicate any information that you would like.

Once you have entered all of the information, all you need to do is click the Add New Projects link. Congratulations! You have just entered a project. Now you are ready for the real work, adding all of the equipment to the project. For more information on adding equipment to a project please see Adding Equipment.
